Sonion is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of microacoustic and micromechanical technologies and solutions for use in hearing instruments, in-ear earphones and various medical devices.

Sonion product range includes balanced armature receivers, high-performance electret microphones, telecoils and a range of micromechanical components for use in hearing instruments, minimal invasive surgery devices and other applications. Building on generic product portfolio, they work intimately with customers to supply customized solutions that help to meet their challenges.

Companies customers include a broad selection of hearing instrument manufacturers, in-ear earphone manufacturers and some of the world’s largest medtech companies. Sonion is headquartered in Denmark and has facilities in Poland, the Netherlands, the USA, Vietnam and China. Sonion components are produced at two factories in Vietnam and Poland. Before choosing Vietnam for its new operations base, Sonion analysed and visited a number of countries including Brazil, Ukraine, India and Thailand. Vietnam was a high level of security and stability, cost efficiency, very good labour skills and attitude, a balanced labour law, and good and improving infrastructure.

Sonion is certified according to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 13485 standards.

Since June 2009, Sonion has been owned by Altor Fund III – managed by Altor Equity Partners.

Sonion Medical is certified according to the ISO 13485 standard and has production in both controlled areas and cleanrooms. Plastic molding takes place in Roskilde, Denmark, while assembly takes place in the Stettin area in Poland.
